Victor Hugo
the novel Les Miserables was published in 1961 and written by Victor Hugo. The first edition of the book was released in Paris and within 24 hours it was sold out. The book was a new phenomenon being read by people of all kind all around the world. Hugo was born February 26, 1802 and died May 22, 1885. He lived a long prosperous life in which he studied law before poetry had been introduced to him. His first novel was a hit, he published the novel The Hunchback of Notre-Dame in 1832 which was the time of the French Revolution. He later went on to write Les Miserables which was even more of a success. Hugo's purpose to writing Les Miserables was a dramatic adventure to show the violence of human passions expressed in various ways and mixed emotions.
